Keynote: Tales from the Cloud Native Community

The presentation discusses the work of the Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) at CNCF in managing the projects under its umbrella and ensuring their health and maturity levels. It also highlights the contributions of various contributors in shaping the mission of making cloud native computing ubiquitous.

The TOC evaluates the maturity levels of projects in the CNCF, with sandbox being the low barrier entry point for a project to join. Once they mature enough, they can apply for incubation, and eventually move to graduation. The rapid growth in the number of projects joining the CNCF is a challenge that the TOC is trying to adapt to. Various tags, such as Tag App Delivery and Tag Environment Sustainability, have been busy with their respective projects and initiatives.

With the scale of the landscape, ensuring the health of these projects and strengthening the ecosystem to meet the needs of end users and contributors is not an easy job.
