The community has been working on releasing the v2 API for the Horizontal Pod Autoscaler for several releases now. The v2 API has recently been made stable and deprecation notices have been issued for v2 beta1 and v2 beta2. The serialization format has not changed, but there have been changes to the programmatic API interface. However, the transition from v2 beta1 or v2 beta2 to v2 should be seamless for most users.
