Public Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) Meeting

The Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) is responsible for evaluating and approving projects for inclusion in the CNCF ecosystem. The TOC works to strike a balance between the needs of the projects, community members, and end users, while also ensuring that projects are aligned with the values and principles of Cloud Native. The TOC is also working to make its criteria for project evaluation more clear and consistent.

The TOC is responsible for evaluating and approving projects for inclusion in the CNCF ecosystem. This involves a lot of work, but also exposes members to a variety of different areas that are far from their day jobs. The due diligence process involves a lot of contact with end users to understand how projects are used. The TOC strives to strike a balance between the needs of the projects, community members, and end users, while also ensuring that projects are aligned with the values and principles of Cloud Native. This can be challenging, as not every project in open source needs to be Cloud native. However, the TOC is working to make its criteria for project evaluation more clear and consistent, and to design processes that work for the most common denominator while also considering the unique needs of each project. Ultimately, the goal of the TOC is to make Cloud native ubiquitous and to provide a vendor-neutral space for contributors to work on projects.
